Dates, chairs, and the packing list

The two-day Volume Participation Workshop is the sitting that defines the house. The Tuesday circle is listed here when a block is open. Request a place from this page; do not treat a listed date as a ticket until we have written back.

People seated around a conference table during a working discussion
Full groups sit in Framlingham so A3 prints have a table edge to themselves.

Open and held blocks

  1. 12–13 September 2026

    Framlingham meeting room

    Ten places; six currently held

Chart packs post in the last week of August. Pre-work is three marked sessions from your own book.

  2. 7–8 November 2026

    Framlingham meeting room

    Ten places; registration open

Same two-day shape. November groups often include people repeating after a summer gap; say so on the form so we seat you accordingly.

  3. Tuesday circle, 6 October – 10 November 2026

24 Grey Street, Kettleburgh (if six or fewer) or Framlingham

    Eight places

Six evenings, 18:30–20:30. The Friday print starts 2 October.

Bring

  • Pencil, eraser, and a 30cm ruler
  • Three printed sessions of one instrument you actually watch
  • A notebook with stitched pages — spiral bindings fight the chart pack
  • Spectacles if you need them; the prints are A3 and the room lighting is ordinary

Not required

  • A particular charting package or paid data feed
  • A live connection during the marking blocks
  • Prior attendance at a London seminar

How a day in Framlingham actually runs

Doors at 09:10 for tea. We start at 09:30 with the three participation words — initiative, responsive, empty — spoken against a print from the previous week. Late morning is relative volume at the clock, not a hunt for the tallest bar. Lunch is in the room; the afternoon is marking, including at least one London open where effort and result disagree. We finish by 16:30. Day two spends longer on climax volume and on the pages you brought from your own book.

Capacity is ten for the workshop and eight for the circle. If you need a slower pace than a full table, look at a chart review first. To hold a chair, request a place and name the date as printed above.
